Description:
Nature and Music can offer a place of calm for children. Both are true gifts that many busy children miss out on these days. Nature and Out-of-Door life and Singing and Dancing also promote healthy intellectual, physical, and character growth in children. We hope to foster a new appreciation toward the natural world and music to encourage all children in the habit and joy of life-long learning. NatureSong Camp will be offered this summer as a partnership between Groveland Rec Center and CityLife Church. We are excited to share with your children, ages 6-11, the timeless tradition of folkdancing, hope to encourage the naturalist in them through the habit of Nature Journaling and Watercolor painting, and train their singing ear and eye through a basic Sight singing and ear training method called Solfege. We also will practice listening carefully to our selected composer for the summer, study 5 local birds through James Audubon paintings, and learn about rhythm through drumming time.
