Come one, come all… its time to Prevail the Trail! Our Prevail the Trail 5k is the 2nd in our Pierce County Parks Run the Fun Series! Those registered in either the in-person 5k race will receive a Prevail the Trail 5k keepsake medal! Collect all 5 medals across the series and be entered to win a prize! All ages and abilities are welcome!
The 5K course is USATF certified and chip timed. The Foothills Trail in Orting is paved and provides flat areas with easy slopes. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask. Runners may only remove their mask when running their event. Mask must be worn again when the race is finished. No congregation will be allowed at the activity start or finish area. Participants must leave the activity area when finished. Results will be made available online on our website the week after the race. All registered participants will receive a race bib.
Race packets must be picked up at the Lakewood Community Center on Wednesday July 21st from 8:00am-8:00pm. Registration deadline is June 28th. Spectators are not allowed at the race, however a member of the same household of a participant may provide support along the activity area. This event will have staggered start times in order to help promote social distancing. Please note when choosing your staggered start time at registration that the 5K has options for beginning, intermediate and advanced. Please choose your time based on your experience level. Racers will be released in groups of 10 every 5 minutes. Check-in will take place 10 minutes prior to your staggered start time at Orting City Park at the Foothills Trail in order to comply with current government restrictions please do not arrive prior to this.
