Description
This fun and scenic race on the Foothills Trail is open to people of all ages and abilities. The 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified and chip timed. The Foothills Trail in Orting is paved and provides flat areas with easy slopes.
Everyone in attendance must wear a mask. Runners may only remove their mask when running their event. Mask must be worn again when the race is finished. No congregation will be allowed at the activity start or finish area. Participants must leave the activity area when finished. Results will be made available online on our website the week after the race.
All registered participants in the ½ Marathon will receive a race bib and Finishers Medal. Race packets must be picked up at the Lakewood Community Center on Wednesday April 14th from 8:00am-8:00pm. Registration deadline is April 2nd. Spectators are not allowed at the race, however a member of the same household of a participant may provide support along the activity area. This event will have staggered start times in order to help promote social distancing.
Refreshments will be made available at this event for ½ Marathons participants, courtesy of Tacoma Boys in Puyallup. Please bring your own water bottle. Check-in will take place 10 minutes prior to your staggered start time at Orting City Park (Corner of Washington Ave & Bridge St. SE) In order to comply with current government restrictions please do not arrive prior to this.
Call 253-798-4000 for more information. Proceeds benefit youth recreation programs. All participants must pre-register. T-shirts are not available for purchase at this event. Runners must complete the course in four hours to be officially timed. Five race participants total will be randomly selected the week following the event to receive a free pair of shoes from South Sound Running. Winners will be notified by Pierce County Parks.
