Description

Get ready to "Pitch in for Parks" a volunteer based program offered through a partnership between Pierce County Parks and McLendon Hardware. Pitch in for Parks is a great opportunity for all ages and abilities (ages 15 and under with guardian) to pitch in and help your community. Join us rain or shine!

Enjoy the lake and help us keep the creek flowing by removing spotted jewel weed, Himalayan blackberry, and other invasive species at Spanaway Park.
To comply with current Safe Start regulations each Pitch in for Parks will be limited to 15 registered volunteers and will not be open to drop-in volunteers. Also, please note the following requirements for all volunteers:
  • Bring own work gloves
  • Bring own water and snacks
  • Bring and wear own mask at all times
  • Only use assigned tools
  • Only use assigned tolls while wearing floves
  • Only work within assigned workstation
  • Maintain at least 6-feet from Parks Staff and other volunteers outside your household
  • Volunteers showing signs of illness are not permitted and will be asked to leave
  • Volunteers violating Social Distancing and Preventative Hygiene measures will be asked to leave
