Description: 

For ages 15 and older. Parker Recreation offers lifeguard training to learn how to safely rescue swimmers while maintaining personal safety. This class is a blended learning format with a combination of online and classroom skills.Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguard Training course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, valid for two years. Follow this link to complete the on-line portion of the class. Print or take a screen shot of the completion page and bring that to the first day of class. You may not participate in class without the completion page.


Due to an updated Executive Order, all individuals over age 10 must wear a face covering at all times inside of Parker Recreation facilities. Masks are not required in pools. Notes:
Pre-Test to be completed on the first day of class: Swim 300 yards continuously using a strong Front Crawl Stroke with proper breathing and a coordinated Breaststroke; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder.
