Description: Students in this level display and execute proper technique and placement while continuing to expand their knowledge of skills and steps. A typical class begins with barre, center work and finishes with across the floor combinations. The second portion of the class will focus on different jazz styles and continue to work on technique and skill. Students in this level are expected to wear a black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers for ballet. Jazz clothing may be layered for the jazz portion of class. Please arrive on time to class. Classes are designed to warm the body gradually to enable them to execute progressively bigger and more difficult moves as well as to prevent injury. Students interested in expanding their abilities and talents are encouraged to simultaneously enroll in other Technique Level classes, Performing Dance Team, Turns & Leaps and En Pointe (if eligible). Technique classes are designed to compliment and supplement each other. Dancers who wish to dance multiple days a week are encouraged to email onpointeschooldance@gmail.com prior to registering to make sure they are enrolled in the appropriate levels. Our dance classes include the unique performing experience for dancers to participate in our spring performance at the PACE Center, May 13. A $70 costume purchase fee is made payable to On Pointe the first week of class. Classes start January 13 and end May 13 with the performance. There are no classes on March 16 - 20 (Spring Break).
