This workshop explores sequential narrative art, including, but not limited to, graphic novels, illustrations, comics, travel diaries, and children's books. After a quick overview of the basic techniques, we will focus on storytelling, picture composition, page layout, and the use of traditional and digital tools. Drawing and writing exercises, experimentation with a variety of media, and ongoing exploration of authors' work from around the world will allow students to develop their own way of telling stories with pictures! Art beginners as well as experienced artists are welcome.
