Description: 

William Syphax rented space in an outbuilding adjacent to the historic Carlyle House in the early 19th century. He was one of the very few African-Americans in Alexandria who was able to free himself and many of his family members. Join Steve Hammond for a presentation that will share insights on William Syphax and those WERE a part of his FAN club.
