Description

Interested in connecting with the outdoors through hunting, but not sure how to get started? This class is for you! Our nine-week course is designed for beginners of all types - students do not need to have previous experience with archery or firearms.

Enhance your encounters with the outdoors by learning the basic skills used to get close to wildlife and interact with the natural world. Explore animal identification, behavior, calls, and tracking, plus scouting, outdoor preparedness, and ageless tricks to blend with the environment. Discover how hunting fits in to conservation efforts across the nation.

Stay safe by practicing with tree stands/safety harnesses and learning basic firearm and archery safety. Gain hands-on marksmanship experience with modern bowhunting equipment and firearms on our indoor ranges. By taking this class, students will have the foundation to successfully plan and conduct a hunt, as well as learn what to do after the shot.

Students will be able to earn their Firearm Hunter Education and Bowhunter Education Course certificates through this class.

Ages 11 and over.

Students will be outside for potions of the class. We recommend that participants bring (labeled) personal sunscreen, bug spray, hat/sunglasses, and water. Students may bring their own compound bow if they have one.
