The class is available to anyone 15.5 years or older; adults are fully welcome to get certified! The class teaches you how to be a professional lifeguard, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what actions to take when an emergency happens. Certifications include Lifeguarding, AED, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
The following are skills needed to qualify for the course - please practice them ahead of time!

*Treading water for 2 minutes using legs only (head & arms remain above water).
*A timed, diving event (without goggles): Swim a short distance, retrieve a 10 lb. brick from 7-10 feet of water, and return swim on back with both hands on the object and face at or near the surface of the water. Student must exit the pool without using the ladder or stairs in 1 minute and 40 seconds.
