We're sorry, but this course is over. The last meeting was Thursday, August 25, 2016.
This day-long workshop, led by Vanessa Mulvey, is an opportunity for performers and teachers to learn the fundamentals of Body Mapping, known for enhancing performance efficiency, reducing performance stress, and increasing each performer?s capacity for expression.
Body Mapping illuminates the accurate anatomical design of movement as it relates to music-making. Workshop topics will include: optimizing attention and the music-making senses, balance for sitting and standing, breathing, and arm and hand movement. Each area includes memorable strategies to integrate into practice and performance.
With the help of Body Mapping, performance confidence grows, expression flows and new career goals come into focus. College and adult musicians (amateur through professional) as well as advanced high school students are encouraged to register. This workshop is also open to high school and college faculty looking for resources to bring into their classrooms and lessons.
