Collections Care: Behind the Scenes at Rockwood

Rockwood is a complex preservation project for garden landscapes, buildings, and artworks from four continents. The museum's collections managers will highlight Rockwood's ongoing efforts to stop time through a fascinating tour of museum galleries, collection storage and careful examination of dozens of objects with unique conservation needs. This behind-the-scenes look at Rockwood's policies and procedures for protecting its collections is a terrific primer for protecting your own treasures at home as well as an introduction to the professional field of museum management. All ticket sales for this unique fund-raising tour will help support the cleaning and long-term storage of the museum's historic rug collection-all extra donation will be celebrated!
