Description

Porch Parade Decorating Contest Details

Northbrook residents and businesses are invited to decorate their porch, house, front yard, or front window and compete for gift cards from local establishments. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in various categories! Houses will be judged the week of October 26, just in time for the Halloween Spooky Trail. Register your home to enter the contest at nbparks.org with code: 14760.


Winners in five categories will be selected by ’celebrity judges’ and receive gift cards to local restaurants.in the amount of $100 First Place, $50 Second Place, and $25 Third Place, and a $100 People’s Choice Award, with the potential for ties/honorable mentions.

People’s Choice Award – ballots will be distributed to participants



The Spooky Trail will be held on Saturday, October 31, 4-8pm. The Trail starts at the Northbrook Public Library between 4-6pm where trail maps and People’s Choice Award ballots will be distributed, then ends at the Leisure Center with giveaways, spooky fun, and participant photos ending at 8pm.



Participants will follow the parade route map to follow the spooky trail featuring the prize winning displays, and other various routes, which will be determined depending on the entries.





In the spirit of giving, consider a “treat” for those in need.



Please bring non-perishable food items or grocery store gift cards to drop off at the Village Hall before you start on the Spooky Trail. Your donation will help support the Northfield Township Food Pantry.





Spooky Trail Decoration Rules & Regulations



• Displays must be fully decorated by dusk on Sunday, October 25, 2020



• Display MUST BE appropriate for a family audience.



• Displays are not a place for commercial marketing. Businesses are welcomed and encouraged to participate with a focus on the mission of proving a safe family event for Halloween fun.



• The Village of Northbrook reserves the right to exclude any displays that do not meet our guidelines or that feature content not aligned with our mission.



• Registrations are limited to one per household/business, per location.



• Registration for the “Halloween Spooky Trail” and/or tagging with related photos or videos on social media, grants the Village of Northbrook permission to use your images, media, and footage on any platform.
