Description:
Mosaic a shovel 27" in length. The metal shovel head measures 9" in length and 7" in width. Learn the basic skills of mosaic including shard layout, cutting, use of adhesive and grouting. The challenge is approaching the shaft of the shovel. Learn strategies to successfully cover one side of the shaft, allowing it to dry enough to be able to access the other side of the shaft. Choose from a variety of dishes, cups, saucers, bowls, whole pieces and broken shards as well as assorted glass and ceramic tiles, glass balls and beads and a variety of found objects that make the mosaic interesting! You are encouraged to bring your own arbitrary objects such as onesie earrings and other vintage and costume jewelry pieces. Even the contents of the infamous junk drawer might have something fun to add to your piece. All materials, supplies and use of tools are provided. There is a $115 supply fee payable at the first class. See photo of this class at napervilleartleague.com. (bd)
