Description
Oak Lake Strings is a non-auditioned beginning/intermediate string orchestra for adults. Oak Lake Strings performs everything from Bach to Beatles!
Conductor/Director, Chas Arnold, will work with the group on ensemble skills, and play, alternating violin parts to allow members of the ensemble to better understand how the individual parts fit together in the orchestration.
Fall session classes will be held virtually. Limited in-person options for those who wish to attend in person, may be available. Those taking place in the in-person option will be required to complete health questionnaire and waivers, wear masks, and adhere to Music Center’s reentry protocols. For those who are unable to meet in-person, the usual virtual class option will continue to be the main method of class delivery.
Individual instruction will also be available for each member at the conclusion of each class time. To finish, we hope to present a virtual concert with 2 finished pieces at the end of term. This will be produced by the Director using Final Cut Pro. Students will need to record their parts using a click track and will submit the video for editing.
Intermediate level skill and reading suggested.*
