Floral Decorative Tile

Create and decorate your very own personalized ceramic tile. In this class, you will start by rolling out a slab of clay and cut out the shape of your tile. Then decorate it by either depicting a specific image or narrative scene. Or let loose and have fun exploring texture and pattern using additive and subtractive clay techniques such as carving or attaching clay details. Then brush on underglaze to add color. Students will have the option to poke holes in their tile to allow them to hang on the wall when they are finished.

When your piece is dry, it will get fired in the kiln with a clear coat of glaze. You will be notified by email for pick up.

Come to class with some ideas on how you want to decorate your tile. All tools and material provided.
