Description: Maryland Flying Squirrels are abundant, cute, and active year-round, but few see them in the wild because they are active at night - nocturnal. During the month of September and early October they are giving birth and nursing their young. Consequently, few venture out to visit our feeders. Our volunteers will still be doling out sunflower seeds on Friday evenings, but it's unlikely that squirrels will be coming out until early November.
