Description:
For those of us who love birds but tend to be night owls, there’s still time in the morning to enjoy the early bird frenzy, especially in springtime. This series is for beginning birders and will cover the basics from binocular use to identifying birds by field marks and aptly describing their position in yonder tree (“ten-o’clock in the sycamore tree!”) Scoping the wooded and lake edges of Wheaton Regional Park, we’ll accurately identify bluebirds, red-winged blackbirds, the occasional heron and much more. Bring your own or borrow a pair of our binoculars. Rain cancels the program for all but the geese and mallard ducks. Facial coverings are required. Meet at the carousel in Wheaton Regional Park, off Shorefield Rd.
