Description

This genre focuses on brief scenes illuminated by a "flash" of understanding. "Going small" allows us to focus on the moments in which life is truly lived. In flash memoir--stories under 1000 or even under 500 words--we challenge ourselves to develop a story concisely, concretely, with crisp precision. Accepting the challenge of creative nonfiction, we work within the boundaries of emotional and factual truth. No other rules apply. Two 2-hour sessions.

Sarah White is a professional freelance writer and personal historian. Since 2002 she has been helping individuals write about their lives through workshops, community oral history projects and one-to-one coaching.
