Description: 

Learn the fundamentals of metalsmithing and jewelry design. Participants will explore jewelry fabrication techniques including sawing, piercing, riveting and texturing. Starting with an extensive exploration of the various ways to texture metals, you can then design and fabricate a pierced pendant using all of these techniques.

Alison, UW-Madison Alum, is a metal jewelry rockstar, through and through. Independent jeweler, teaching artist, and k-12 art educator, Alison offers Wheelhouse studios her art metals expertise and incredible teaching abilities. She loves showing the UW community what beautiful possibilities the world of art metals can offer.

SUPPLY LIST INFORMATION: GENERAL SUPPLIES (bring to first class) = Fine Tip Sharpie Marker, Pen, Pencil, Note/Sketchbook. ****** NOTE: This course does NOT include stone setting or metal casting.
