Muddy Boots Field Trip: Morrow Mtn State Park

Pack a picnic lunch and join us on an excursion to Morrow Mountain State Park! Morrow Mountain is home to an ancient rhyolite quarry that dates back at least 10,000 years. Native Americans used the rhyolite to make tools and weapons and we will see evidence of this everywhere as we hike to the top of the mountain and down by the Pee Dee River. Please dress in weather-appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle and lunch. Terrain: Moderate, 4.0-5.0 miles.
