Description: We will discuss the bird species that nest in the Willamette Valley and some of those who use this corridor on their migration northward each spring. We will explore identification techniques, talk of each species' habitat preferences, as well as courtship and nesting styles. This will include April 20th discussion of coastal birds and then all-day field trip to Lincoln City area on April 22nd. Other field trips (April 1, 8, 15) will be approximately 8 am- 1pm. Field trips include moderate walking; binoculars are recommended. Transportation is not included; carpooling is suggested.

The instructor is Harry Fuller, a McMinnville resident. He has been leading birding trips along the Pacific Coast for two decades. He is author of Freeway Birding and Great Gray Owls of California, Oregon and Washington. He leads trips for Partnership for International Birding and Klamath Bird Observatory.
