Description

These programs are specifically geared towards a home school audience, but all are welcome! Join a naturalist for a science-related lesson, nature walk, and guided exploration of Oliver Nature Park. Learn about local ecosystems, watch how animals and plants interact, and sneak up on a few of the natural inhabitants of the park. Themes will vary each session. Pre-registration required. The theme for this class is Junior Meteorologist. Pre-registration required.

Meteorology is the study of the atmosphere and weather. In our Junior Meteorologist class, students will learn how scientific data are collected for making predictions about the weather. We will investigate how pressure fronts, air temperature, and precipitation cause changes in weather. This class is a great introduction to understanding the fickle winter weather we experience in Texas.
