Description

Join the City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department for our first ever Adaptive Play Day at Maxey Park!

See below for our full schedule of events and find the activities you and your family want to participant in! Events will start at 9:00 AM and end at 8:00 PM with the start of a movie in the park!

This free event will celebrate inclusive play and activities throughout our community and is open to everyone! No registration is necessary. We look forward to seeing you at this inaugural event.

Schedule of Events:
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Fitness Classes north of AMBUCS Playground
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Beeper Ball with the Alström Angels in the field near Maxey Community Center
  • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Games and vendors around AMBUCS Playground (including activities from Bricks and Minifigs, Therapy 2000/Green Apple Therapy and Phoenix Moon Healing)
  • 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM - Vendors around Maxey Community Center and Splash Pad (including Caprock Home Health, Superior Health Plan and Wertz Werkz Game Rentals)
  • 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM - Special Olympics introductions at the basketball court behind Maxey Community Center
  • 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM - Food Truck Alley opens west of Maxey Community Center (including Frios Gourmet Pops, Gilbert's Fajitas and Marco's Pizza)
  • 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Games, crafts and demonstrations at the Maxey Splash Pad (including group games on the hour in the splash pad)
  • 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM - Pop Up Park games near Maxey Playground
  • 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM - Indoor Fitness Classes at Maxey Community Center
    • 1:30 PM - Zumba with Christene and Shanay
    • 2:15 PM - Zumba Chair with Christene and Shanay
    • 3:00 PM - Essentrics with Vanessa
    • 3:30 PM - Belly Dance Fitness with Vanessa
  • 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM - Fitness Classes west of Maxey Community Center
  • 7:00 PM - Movie in the Park program starts. The movie for the evening will be Finding Nemo with snacks and beverages provided by Wellpoint. Jump into the Fish Scavenger Hunt before the movie!
