INFORMATION FOR

SWIM LESSON PARENTS

Preparing for Your Child’s Class

Do not come to class if you, your child, or other member of your household does not feel well.

• If possible, have your child go to the bathroom before coming to the pool.

• Have your child wash their hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer) or have your child use a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available, before going to the pool.

• Have your child wear their swimsuit to and from the pool. The locker rooms will be closed and the family changing rooms will be open for use of the toilet only.

• Arrive as close as possible to when your child’s class begins.

• You and your child (over 2 years of age) must wear a face mask before entering the facility and until you and your child reach the pool (This is currently a state and local requirement and will be enforced).

• Remind your child that if he or she needs to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve/arm area.

• Have your child avoid touching gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can.

Have your child shower before class using one of the four contactless showers on the pool deck. Practice physical distancing when showering.

During Your Child’s Class

Your child’s swim instructor will ensure that each child is spaced at least six feet apart from others. However, remind your child to keep their distance and to not make physical contact with others during the class.

• Remind your child to avoid touching their face.

• One parent is invited to stay and watch (no families); however your face mask must remain on and seating will be limited. We are unable to provide individual chairs.

After Your Child’s Class

Leave the facility as soon as reasonably possible after your child’s class.

• Wash your hands and your child’s hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after leaving the pool. Hand sanitizer is available when entering the lobby and exiting the facility.

• Do not use the family changing rooms or deck bathroom as a changing area.

• Have your child shower at home. The locker rooms will be closed. The 4 contactless showers on the pool deck are available to rinse off if needed. Practice physical distancing when rinsing off.

• Remember to take all of your child’s personal items with you. All non-valuable items (towels, suits, goggles, etc.) will be thrown away daily.

• No congregation after class.

• Wear a face mask when leaving and exiting the facility.

• Exit at designated exit area. Do not exit through other doors in the facility.
