Description

This in-person course prepares youth ages 11-16 to safely and confidently care for children and infants. It includes hands-on activities videos and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers feeding diapering picking up and holding children safety and emergency response. Participants receive a 10-year Babysitter's Training certificate upon completion.

The Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Handbook serves as a required workbook for participants during class and can be used as an at-home reference after class. The handbook is available to all participants both in print and as a free downloadable eBook. Participants should have access to their own handbook throughout the course in either a digital or print format. If using a digital format, the required worksheets will be provided. Access to the digital eBook will be emailed shortly after registration.

If print format is desired, it will be available for purchase either through the Red Cross at https://www.redcross.org/store/babysitters-training-handbook/755633.html#start=4 or the day of the class for $25.00 (cost includes the price of the book plus shipping)

Please bring a doll, a water bottle and a snack as there will be a break midway through the class. Class is 4 hrs and 30 minutes long.
