Permit expires at midnight on day of purchase. Prior to Boating in JCPRD Waters: All watercraft (including sailboards, stand-up paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and multi-chambered inflatable boats, paddleboards, and rafts) used on JCPRD waters must have a valid JCPRD boating permit with sticker. (Exception: One day permits do not receive a sticker.) All motor or wind driven watercraft must be registered with the state the boat is housed in and have a district boating permit. Only electric motors all allowed to operate on the lakes at Shawnee Mission Park, Heritage Park, Kill Creek Park, and Lexington Lake Park. No gasoline motors may be used on JCPRD waters. Inflatable boats and watercraft must be puncture resistant and contain multiple air chambers. No air mattresses or single chambered inflatables may be used on the water, except at Shawnee Mission Park or Kill Creek Park beach. Inflatable rafts and tubes designed for float fishing, wherein the seated or harnessed occupant is partly submerged, are deemed to be wading gear.
