Chair Yoga can be done by anyone! Chair yoga can be done either sitting for the entire session or in some classes, standing and using the chair as a prop for balance. One of the greatest things about chair yoga is that it can be practiced by people of any size, age, shape, ability, level of activity, those with past injuries, chronic conditions, weight problems, disabilities or anyone who wants to increase his or her range of motion through gradual and gentle exercise.
Mimi Sosa’s Bio: To improve her health and reduce work-related stress, Mimi turned to yoga in the 1990’s to help reclaim and reinvigorate herself. Yoga’s focus on the breath and movement helped center her life. Her physical, mental and spiritual development inspired her to share her passion for yoga with those wanting to re-energize and refocus their hectic lives. She is a registered teacher with the Yoga Alliance ( the foremost nationally recognized industry authority in the US). She has studied with national yoga teachers - Rolf Gates, Paul Grilley, Sean Corn, Shiva Rea, Tias Little. She is certified in Prenatal Yoga through her teachers, Lisa Matkin and Sarah Longacre. Mimi is currently working on bringing yoga to infants with Mommy & Baby Yoga classes and incorporating yoga in the corporate world. Mimi’s proactive respects the traditions of authentic yoga. In addition, Mimi is also a birth Doula and has been for the last 19 years, certified through Doulas of North America. She is also an avid gardener and loves bringing new vegetables into the world.
