Vintage Movie Night is a monthly series that features film historian Eric Grayson as he presents a series of unique and rare vintage film titles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vintage Movie Night will be virtual until further notice.
The Great Rupert (1949) – December 5, 7:00 pmLouie Amendola (Jimmy Durante), once a vaudeville performer with his wife and daughter, hasn't been getting any work, and, as Christmas approaches, his family is homeless. They find a room at Frank Dingle's (Frank Orth) house, but don't know how they'll pay the rent. Then the money Frank's been hiding in the ceiling above their apartment lands in the Amendolas' hands when a crafty squirrel heaves it out of its hiding space, causing more complications within the household.
While there is no charge, we do encourage a suggested donation of $5 at https://garfieldparkindy.org/product/giving-to-garfield/ to support future programs in Garfield Park. Starting in January, movies will go back to $5 admission.
