Description
The Independent Study Studio Membership is open to all current and previous students who have completed two or more instructor-led pottery class sessions at The Hudgens. With five hours of open studio time per week, the Studio Membership offers pottery enthusiasts a unique opportunity to explore, create, and refine their craft in the Hudgens’ fully equipped studios. Intermediate to advanced-level potters seeking a space to practice and experiment will have the opportunity to explore a variety of ceramic techniques at their own pace, including wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, and surface decoration.
Join the Hudgens Independent Study Studio Membership today and unlock your full creative potential in a welcoming, inspiring, and fully-equipped space!
Course Highlights:
- Studio Access: Independent Study Studio Membership includes five hours per week of open studio time to work independently at your own pace, using the Hudgens pottery wheels, slab roller, and glaze room. Please note that instruction is not provided and Independent Study Studio Members are required to sign up for a slot through Sign Up Genius.
- Guided Support: While this is a self-paced experience, Studio Monitors and Studio Assistants are available during select hours to offer studio directional advice.
- Community Collaboration: Join a vibrant community of like-minded artists! Share ideas, learn from each other, and engage in collaborative projects that expand your skills and creativity.
- Storage Space: Keep your projects safe and organized with personal shelf space for storing unfinished work.
- Materials: Each Independent Study Studio Member will receive a 25-lb. bag of stoneware clay, access to glazes and 2500 cubic inches of glaze firing. Additional clay and tools can be purchased from the Education Department.
- Skill Level: The Independent Study Studio Membership is ideal for intermediate to advanced-level students, and only open to currently enrolled Hudgens students or those who have previously completed two or more instructor-led pottery class sessions at the Hudgens.
Final approval for Independent Study Studio Membership will be granted by the Pottery Studio Manager or the Director of Education.
