Description
Boys and girls have fun learning and playing the fascinating game of touch rugby with the Ellicott City Express or Howard County Hurricane program. The league is designed for beginners through advanced players. Learn and improve skills needed to be successful in this fast Olympic sport. Ages 6-14 (coed) and ages 13-16 (girls) play a two-hand touch version; ages 14-19 (boys) play a tackle version. Players compete with teams from surrounding counties in the Maryland Rugby SBO (State Based Organization). Games are played on Saturdays at different locations. Practices begin first week of June. Ellicott City Express practice will be on Monday and Thursdays beginning June 3, 630-8pm FIRST TWO WEEKS WILL BE AT CEDAR LANE PARK, EAST FIELD 8. Games are mid-June to first week of August. To ensure fair and equal balanced teams special request are not honored. League refund policy at www.howardcountymd.gov/Programs/Sports-Leagues. Players and coaches must also complete a membership with USA Rugby Association to play in league games (additional fee). Information with the USA Rugby link will be provided in welcome packets once player is registered in program. Volunteer adult coaches welcomed.
