Description: This class is for the SGE Lifeguard Pretest. The pretest includes;

  • Applicant must be 16 years of age or older (no exceptions).
  • Must be able to swim 25 yards of crawl stroke and 25 yards breast stroke with head out of water.
  • Must be able to swim 25 yards of crawl stroke and 25 yards breast stroke with head out of water with rescue tube.
  • Must be able to surface dive to bottom of 12' pool and retrieve 10-lb brick.
  • Must be able to tread water for 1 minute with both hands on 10-lb brick.
  • Must demonstrate a mature attitude.
After succesfully pasing the pretest the candidate will be entered into the SGE portal to start the blended learning portion of the SGE lifeguard class.
