Description

Tune in from home, and grab your favorite doll or toy to show the class, in this special two-part virtual recreation program broadcast from the Jonathan Hager House Museum. $5

Experience includes:

12- 12:40 pm Part 1: Guided virtual tour of the Hager House, w/ curator Kay.

1- 1:40 pm Part 2: Colonial rag- doll making tutorial. \

Part 1: This special virtual tour showcases a custom-made doll house replica of the Hager House, hand-painted and filled with custom detail work to look just like the real Hager House! Curator, Kay, will take participants on a virtual tour of the historic house museum, to explore the first home built by town founder, Jonathan Hager, over a spring in 1740. Great for children ages 4 years and up.

Part 2: Curator, Kay, will give step-by-step instruction to demonstrate how to make a colonial-style toy rag doll. What you will need for this portion: take spare fabric from around the house to easily create a custom-made colonial style doll, just like Jonathan or Elizabeth Hager or their friends might have made for their children to play with in the colonial era.

Children will need from parents:

- permission in which fabrics they may use to create their toy ragdoll (such as an old t-shirt, pillow case, towel, or fabric scraps, and perhaps some assistance with scissors if the fabric needs cut down to size.

- string or thread; parents help with safely using scissors to cut a long portion of string, thread, or twine.

- Cotton balls or a few extra pieces of spare fabric scraps.
