Description
Need to renew your notary commission? A three-hour refresher course is required. You must also be livescanned and pass the official Notary exam again. We'll feature the new state laws passed and give you a brush-up on general law to make sure you haven't fallen into any bad habits. Your commission must be current to be eligible for a renewing seminar. A $35 material fee for the Notary Public Sourcebook is payable to Notary Public Seminars at the workshop. *Please refer to the exam requirements below.
EXAM INFORMATION
The Official California State Notary Public Exam will be administered immediately following the preparation workshop for those who wish to take it at that time. Participants must present Certificate of Completion from Notary Public Seminars in order to take the exam. Your test result will be mailed to you two weeks after you take the exam. Live Scan fingerprints are required after you pass the exam. Applicants can be denied certification based on their criminal record. Cooperative Personnel Services will register you for the exam on the day of the seminar between 4 - 4:30 pm. The exam will be from 4:45 - 6 pm. To take the exam you must bring:
- a check, money order, or cashier's check made payable to the Secretary of State for $40 (new applicants and renewals)
- Valid ID (one of the following) - driver's license or state DMV I.D.; Canadian or Mexican driver's license; U.S. passport or passport issued by a foreign government; U.S. military I.D. card
- one color passport photo (2"x2")
- two #2 pencils
