Description

This class explores the basics of aviation for the novice. Topics include the history of aviation, the science of flight (simplified), types of aircraft, flight instruments, maneuvers, navigation, weather, and air traffic control. A computer flight simulator allows students hands-on ‘stick time’ to experience control of an aircraft. (Parachutes not needed!) The instructor, Donald Berk, holds an FAA commercial pilot's license and flight instructor certificate for powered land and sea airplanes and gliders.
