At the age of 6, Judith started dancing in her mother's dance group in Germany where she competed in jazz dance and performed for 13 years.Realizing at a young age that she wanted to dance professionally, Judith started taking ballet classes to become a better dancer and achieve her goal.
Judith's formal ballet training was from Ballettstudio C.Pelz, Germany.There she performed soloist roles in Carmina Burana, the Four Seasons, Swan Lake, Coppellia, La Fille Mal Gardee, Bolero, West Side Story, Sleeping Beauty, Mozart Festival, Nutcracker, Cinderella, Libert Tango, and many others. She trained under Christine Pelz (Ballet), Rene Pegliasco (Ballet), Nicohle Mahr (Flamenco), and Olga Kalinskaja (Ballet / Character).
In 2000, Judith travelled to the USA to perfect her training and teaching skills at the Broadway Dance Center in New York City. There she studied with master instructors, Mr. Finis Jhung (Ballet), Bill Hastings (Modern), Jamie Jackson (Hip Hop), and Sue Samuels (Jazz).
As Judith's dancing reached a higher level, she auditioned in Berlin, Germany for TUI (Touristic Union International). Under a one year contract in Spain, she performed as a musical theatre dancer in Tanz der Vampiere, Riverdance, Les Miserables, West Side Story, Grease, 42nd Street, Mamma Mia, Saturday Night Fever, Elisabeth, Mozart, Jekyll and Hyde, Moulin Rouge and more. She also worked as a choreographer in the dance department for many of these shows.
In 2006 she competed in the first season of the German version of So You Think You Can Dance, where she worked with Marvin A. Smith, and was judged by Kelechi Onyele and Paul Kribbe.
In 2008, after marrying her husband, Judith moved from Germany to the USA where she has continued to develop her skills as a teacher and dancer taking various dance related workshops. In 2011 she studied in a summer intensive workshop with Chiara Mangiameli (Flamenco) in Chicago, and in 2014 Judith began to educate herself in injury prevention through Perfect Physio Form, Australia. She took classes on fascia release techniques and proper training to prevent injuries. In the summer of 2015, Judith trained under Lisa Howell, B.Phty, for Teacher Training Level 1 to improve her knowledge in injury prevention.In addition to being an accomplished dance instructor Judith has also been a licensed instructor in Fitness and Physical Health since 1998, recently adding to her education Zumba Fitness, in which she is licensed to teach a variety of Zumba classes, as well as completing the Teacher Training One program in Yoga from YogaFit.
During the fall of 2014, Judith auditioned for the Grand Rapids Opera and was happy to perform Carmen at DeVos Hall under the direction of Candace Evans.
Judith has been teaching dance for 22 years and hopes to keep teaching for as long as possible.
