Reserve Girl Scouts GCNWI Property

For Fall 2020, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana offers outdoor shelter spaces for small in-person reservations. Host your troop meeting outdoors at one of the following locations!

Ready to meet outside with your girls in-person? We are open! GSGCNWI has weekend and shelter reservations open for your troop’s use. You can reserve these sites on our new registration & reservation site.

Troop Shelters: What to know before you go:
  • Facility: As part of a reservation, groups will have access to an outdoor shelter, picnic tables, a toilet facility (portable toilet, pit toilet, or central flush toilet) and a handwashing station.
  • Cleaning: Groups will be provided a trash can, trash bags, and cleaning supplies. Troops will be required to clean and sanitize their space before check-out.
  • COVID-19 Guidelines: When on site, groups are required to follow all current GSGCNWI COVID-19 guidelines.
  • All on site buildings will be locked to troop shelter users, and will not be opened for groups.
  • If a group is not following guidelines, they will first be asked to comply. With continued noncompliance, groups will be asked to leave the property.
  • There is a $25 shelter use fee to assist with maintenance and supply costs for use of troop shelters.
How to Reserve – Troop Shelters (Day Use Reservations)
  1. Check that your account is ready to go—if you have never used our new council registration & reservation site, please check the guide
  2. Log in to our Registration & Reservations Site and click on “Reservations” at the top of the page.
  3. Recommended: Click on “Explore Property Maps”
  4. Select the property you wish to visit
  5. In the “Reserve By” dropdown menu, select “Rental Block” Do not select “Hour” or “Defined Date Range”.
  6. Enter the date in the “From” and “To” box. For a day visit, use the same date in both boxes.
  7. Enter the time block you wish to reserve:
    • 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Available Saturday and Sunday)
    • 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. (Available seven days a week)
    • 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Available Saturday and Sunday)
  8. Enter your total attendees (girls and adults)
  9. Click “Check Availability”
    • Make sure after clicking this to double check the times you entered. If they have changed, enter them again and hit “Check Availability” again before moving forward. We are working with the system to figure out this hiccup.
  10. Available shelters are highlighted in green. Mousing over the icon on the map will show details about the shelter. Select the one you wish to reserve.
  11. You will see a reservation summary in a pop-up window. In “Description”, please enter your troop number then click “Reserve”.
    • If you get an error message of “Invalid Reservation”, please try again, making sure to check your times before and after you click the “Check Availability” button.
  12. Read and sign the waivers, and complete the remainder of the information requested.
  13. Review your information and click “Submit”.
Overnight and Weekend Reservations: What to know before you go:
  • Site reservations book the space for your group from Friday, 4 p.m. to Sunday, 2 p.m., regardless of how long your group plans to be on site. (For example, you can choose to check in Saturday morning and depart Sunday morning/afternoon). Please note your anticipated check in/check out day and time during reservation. At this time we are unable to accommodate single night reservations.
  • Facility: As part of a reservation, groups will have access to their reserved site, which will include basic cleaning supplies, kitchen and dining equipment, and other amenities as detailed in the site description.
  • Cleaning: Groups will be provided a trash can, trash bags, and cleaning supplies. Troops will be required to clean and sanitize their space before check-out.
  • COVID-19 Guidelines: When on site, groups are required to follow all current GSGCNWI COVID-19 guidelines.
  • If a group is not following guidelines, they will first be asked to comply. With continued noncompliance, groups will be asked to leave the property.
  • Site reservation fees vary depending on capacity and type of property site.
  • Site reservation fees are due in full at time of reservation. If you are reserving on behalf of a service unit or other large group, please reach out to property@girlscoutsgcnwi.org for assistance.

  4. Select the property you wish to visit
  5. In the “Reserve By” dropdown menu, select “Defined Date Range” Do not select “Hour” or “Rental Block”.
  6. Select the weekend dates you wish to book in the drop-down menu “Date Range”
  7. Enter your total attendees (girls and adults)
  8. Click “Check Availability”
  9. Available sites are highlighted in green. Mousing over the icon on the map will show details about the site. Select the one you wish to reserve.
  10. You will see a reservation summary in a pop-up window. In “Description”, please enter your troop number then click “Reserve”.
  11. Read and sign the waivers, and complete the remainder of the information requested.
  12. Review your information and click “Submit”.
Reservation Notes
All property sites are first come, first serve.
This is a reservation request. You should see an email within 2-4 business days either approving your request or asking for more information needed prior to approving your spot.
Requests hold your spot at camp! Once your request is submitted, other users will not be able to book the spot.
All site reservation fees are due in full at time of reservation. If you are reserving on behalf of a service unit or other large group, please reach out to property@girlscoutsgcnwi.org for assistance.
