Description

Empower the next generation of leaders with Program Aide and VIT Leadership Training—a specialized program designed for Girl Scouts in grades 6 through 12. This training prepares young leaders to co-lead and inspire younger troops through effective activity facilitation and event planning, fostering leadership skills and a passion for community service.

Program Highlights:

Leadership Development: Gain essential leadership skills and techniques to effectively guide and mentor younger Girl Scouts. Learn about leadership styles, communication strategies, and team-building exercises to become a confident and supportive role model.

Activity Facilitation: Develop practical skills for planning and leading engaging activities. Explore methods for creating fun, educational, and age-appropriate activities that align with the Girl Scout mission and values. Practice leading activities in a supportive environment and receive feedback to refine your approach.

Event Planning: Acquire the knowledge and skills needed to plan and execute successful events. Learn about event logistics, organization, and management, including how to coordinate with other leaders, manage resources, and handle unexpected challenges.

Hands-On Experience: Apply your new skills in real-world scenarios. Participate in mock troop meetings and events where you'll practice facilitation and planning, gaining valuable experience and confidence in a supportive setting.

Mentorship and Support: Receive guidance from experienced Girl Scout Staff who will share their insights and provide personalized support. Benefit from their expertise as you navigate the responsibilities of co-leading and event planning.

Community Impact: Understand the importance of community service and how to incorporate it into your activities and events. Learn how to inspire younger Girl Scouts to engage in service projects and make a positive impact in their communities.

Certification and Recognition: Complete the training with a certification that acknowledges your readiness to co-lead and facilitate activities. Earn recognition for your commitment to leadership and service within the Girl Scout community.

Who Should Participate:

Girl Scouts in grades 6 through 12 interested in developing their leadership skills and taking on a more active role in guiding and supporting younger troops. Ideal for those who are passionate about facilitating activities, planning events, and making a positive difference.

This is a drop off event.

This is a day event and does not include an overnight.

Please bring a snack.

The application is very short and does not require you to share any sensitive financial information. Application must be completed in order for financial assistance to be successfully requested, otherwise the total fee will be charged to your method of payment one week before the program takes place.

Adult-to-Girl Ratios for Outings, Activities, Camping and Travel
The adult-to-girl ratio for outings, activities, camping, and travel means a minimum of two registered, approved, adult volunteers who are unrelated, including one female, must be present for up to this number of girls:
• 6 Girl Scout Daisies
• 12 Girl Scout Brownies
• 16 Girl Scout Juniors
• 20 Girl Scout Cadettes
• 24 Girl Scout Seniors
• 24 Girl Scout Ambassadors
