Welcome! Whether you choose one week or several weeks, our Adventure Day Camp fits your schedule and provides a safe environment for children to run, play, build self-esteem and encourages positive cooperation. Having the highest quality leadership staff is our greatest asset. All staff are carefully selected and background checked to ensure we have the best possible role models. All summer camp staff participates in an intensive training program and are CPR/1st Aid certified. Because kids today need camp experiences more than ever, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities including swimming once a week, field trips, outside games and more that will help them discover new talents, gain independence, build confidence and create long-lasting friendships and memories but most importantly, have fun!
Parents have the option of enrolling their children in our K-2nd group or our 2nd-4th group. Parents know their children best; this age split will give our parents the opportunity to decide where they think their children will succeed based on development and camp experience.
Our K-2nd grade camps focus on youth development and learning through creativity, play, and exploration of our environment. All of our activities and trips are intentionally planned to promote physical, cognitive, and emotional/social development as well as provide them with memorable experiences and friendships that last a lifetime. All campers will have the opportunity to leave their site every day, swim, slip n’ slide on our giant slide and hike once during the week, visit multiple parks, and attend two field trips that relate to the weekly theme. Each camper will participate in arts & crafts, daily reading, games, singing, and a visit with our weekly STEM instructor. In light of the pandemic we are working on combating learning loss by providing time each week with licensed teachers that will teach the 4 Blocks curriculum that focuses on literacy through guided reading, self-selected reading and working with words. Each week provides campers with new themes and age-appropriate curriculum to keep our younger campers excited to come to camp, learning, and trying new things. Swim lessons are not included in this camp. All campers are swim tested. Those who cannot swim will be required to wear a life-jacket at all times while swimming. Parents are responsible for providing a life jacket. ** Hawthorne Camp will move to the Wilson School Gym for the last two weeks of camp.

Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are provided. We are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs to the best of our ability. We ask for notice at least one week in advance of first scheduled camp date. Parents are also welcome to provide lunch & snacks from home, but camp price will not be discounted.
Campers should bring a mask/face covering, hand sanitizer and a water bottle each day and apply sunscreen prior to arriving at camp. Campers should bring sunscreen to apply throughout the day and should also pack a swimsuit and towel every day.
*Changes to programs may occur due to COVID-19. We will do our best to keep you informed as information is provided by our local Health Department and the Governor’s Office.
COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY: If the YMCA must cancel a program or camp due to COVID-19 circumstances, you will be notified and provided a full refund for unused camp days/weeks.
CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be made in writing or via email. For all Summer Camp Programs, cancellations must be made 2-weeks prior to the beginning of camp. A cancellation made 2-weeks prior to camp will receive a refund or credit minus the non-refundable/non-transferable $25 deposit. Cancellations made less that 2-weeks from the start of camp will forfeit the entire fee for camp. Payment of a payment plan must be set up at least 2-weeks before camp begins. If camp is not paid or a payment plan is not set up 2-weeks before camp begins, your child will not be able to attend camp and the balance owed will remain on account until paid. For all other YMCA Programs, cancellations made 48-hours prior to the program will receive a refund minus a $10 processing fee per person or a credit minus a $5 processing fee per person.
