Description

This class will give you some moves for the next school dance! This dance class will teach the fundamentals of hip-hop, jazz (& street jazz) with a little bit of acrobatics thrown in too. The focus will be on teaching group routines, and a little free style. Dance instructor Erin McHenry explains,"I'm going to teach the class routines, with lots of fundamentals and technique. I plan on teaching hip-hop and contemporary dance moves. Teens and young adults express more emotion with movement than young children, so I want them to learn to how to channel emotions into dance moves."

This is a one-time class being featured as a preview to Hip Hop & Freestyle Dance for Grades 7-12, an 8 week program that will run March 25-May 13 on Mondays from 5:30-6:30p. Scholarships are available, thanks to a grant from the Atwood Foundation to bring dance to Girdwood kids!
