Description

This movement and dance class will teach the fundamentals of hip-hop, jazz (& street jazz) with a little bit of acrobatics thrown in too. Dance instructor Erin McHenry explains,"Depending on how the kids like the different dance styles, I will focus more on which technique they connect with the most and seem to enjoy. I plan on teaching a couple of routines and also teaching them how to freestyle. I will be teaching students how to use facial expressions in dance, because the effect also comes from their face".

This is a one-time class being featured as a preview to Hip Hop Dance for Grades 4-6, an 8 week program that will run March 25-May 13 on Mondays from 4:30-5:30p. Scholarships are available, thanks to a grant from the Atwood Foundation to bring dance to Girdwood kids!
