All About Bats (Hammel Woods)
In-Person2025|#HO080825
Description
Join a naturalist to learn about these often misunderstood, fascinating creatures of the night. Discover our local bat species and find out how they are essential to a healthy ecosystem. As the bats silently leave their daytime roost, we will use bat-detecting equipment to reveal exactly who is heading out into the night. Next we’ll head out to explore bat habitat and see if we can spot them performing their nightly aerial acrobatics as they search for food.
The exploratory portion of this program will be a walk of less than 0.25 mile on natural surfaces over uneven terrain. Meet at the Shorewood Grove Shelter.
