Description: This class is designed as an introduction to dance and creative movement. The techniques of ballet will be introduced in a non pressured environment. Basic center and traveling steps will be taught as well as simple barre exercises. Additional styles of dance may be introduced. Students will also explore a variety of imaginative and interactive creative movement expressions through stories, games, rhythmic training and other fun activities. This class is designed to enhance the student's enjoyment of dance as well as to prepare them for more formal dance training. Students are required to wear a solid colored leotard, white tights, and pink ballet slippers in order to participate in class. A dance recital at the end of the year will be presented.

Notes:
Students must wear pink ballet slippers in class, and have their hair pulled back away from the face. In order for students to learn the techniques of dance through specific, individualized instruction, the instructor must be able to see every muscle working. Therefore, all dancers are required to wear a solid colored leotard and white tights to dance class. NO STREET CLOTHES OR JEANS ARE ALLOWED. If a student does not come appropriately dressed for class, the instructor has the option to ask that student to observe and not participate in class. Students may practice at home if desired, but it is not required. Music files will be shared via email. Parents will be responsible to purchase a costume for their student in order to participate in the recital. Costumes will be approximately $30 and will be yours to keep. Instructors will send a costume link to the families after the New Year.
