Description: Primary Dance Technique is a 55 minute class that will focus on technique in different styles of dance, including ballet, modern, and jazz. Students will be introduced to the vocabulary, discipline, artistry, and etiquette of each technique within a year's time through choreographed exercises and combinations. Students will be required to wear a solid black leotard, tan footless tights, and pink ballet slippers in order to participate in class. There will be no dance costume fee. A dance recital at the end of the year will be presented.

Notes:
Students must wear pink ballet slippers in class, and have their hair pulled back away from the face. In order for students to learn the techniques of dance through specific, individualized instruction, the instructor must be able to see every muscle working. Therefore, all dancers are required to wear a solid black leotard and tan footless tights to dance class. NO STREET CLOTHES OR JEANS ARE ALLOWED. If a student does not come appropriately dressed for class, the instructor has the option to ask that student to observe and not participate in class. Students are expected to spend 15 minutes per day, four-five days per week reviewing the exercise combinations in order to memorize the pattern of the combinations so class time can be focused on the correct execution of the steps. Music files will be shared via email. Parents will be responsible to purchase a costume for their student in order to participate in the recital. Costumes will be approximately $30 and will be yours to keep. Instructors will send a costume link to the families after the New Year.
