Description: Corps Dance Technique is a 55 minute class that is geared towards the older student who has previous dance experience. It will move at a faster pace, and will focus on the proper technique of ballet and modern dance. Students will be expected to learn more elaborate combinations, delve into more complicated footwork, and master the proper approach to each skill and exercise. Students are required to wear a solid black leotard, tan footless tights, and pink ballet slippers in order to participate in class. There will be no dance costume fee. A dance recital at the end of the year will be presented. Adagio Dance Technique is a prerequisite for this class.

Notes:
Students must wear pink ballet slippers in class, and have their hair pulled back away from the face. In order for students to learn the techniques of dance through specific, individualized instruction, the instructor must be able to see every muscle working. Therefore, all dancers are required to wear a solid black leotard and tan footless tights to dance class. NO STREET CLOTHES OR JEANS ARE ALLOWED. If a student does not come appropriately dressed for class, the instructor has the option to ask that student to observe and not participate in class. Students are expected to spend 15 minutes per day, four-five days per week reviewing the exercise combinations in order to memorize the pattern of the combinations so class time can be focused on the correct execution of the steps. Music files will be shared via email. Parents will be responsible to purchase a costume for their student in order to participate in the recital. Costumes will be approximately $30 and will be yours to keep. Instructors will send a costume link to the families after the New Year.

Students MUST have successfully completed and acquired the Ballet Technique 2 skill qualification in order to register for Dance Technique Corps. Skill levels can be viewed under the student profile in your account.
Instructor: Kimberly Jackson
