Document:1. Symphonic Band
Students registering for level 2, advanced, and allegro woodwind, brass, and percussion classes will automatically be enrolled in Symphonic Band. Symphonic Band meets weekly. Students learn and perform standard band literature. They will develop their overall musicality including: balance, phrasing, style, and independence of parts as well as learning the techniques of playing together in an ensemble under the direction of a conductor. Each student must provide his or her own instrument. Students are expected to practice and learn their Symphonic Band music during their regular, daily practice time of 20-30 minutes, five days a week. Symphonic Band students will participate in a skill day evaluation in January as well as the spring semester. The performance requirement for Symphonic Band Students is the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. There is no charge for Symphonic Band.
