An East Bay Regional Park District Metal Detector Permit is required when metal detecting in the District and must be presented, upon demand, to any authorized Park District employee or Public Safety Officer for verification. The permit will be revoked, and the card forfeit, upon determination that Park Ordinance 38 has been violated, or if it is determined that physical damage has occurred to park property by the permit holder. The permit is non-transferable. The permit is valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. Metal detecting in the District is limited to beach areas, lawns and other developed park areas. Metal detecting is NOT allowed at Contra Loma Regional Park or in natural parkland areas, wilderness areas, or regional preserves.
