Description

LEONA CANYON REGIONAL PRESERVE (MERRITT COLLEGE PARKING LOT E) - Volunteers are needed to help protect featured native plants by pulling non-native invasive grasses and shrubs, focusing around the stations of the self-guided "Local Indian Uses of Plants" trail. Lunch, tools and gloves provided. Community service hours available for students.

Rain or shine. Ages 10+.

Look at the Merritt College online map to see where Parking Lot E is: http://www.merritt.edu/sites/default/files/campusmap2008.pdf, or call our naturalist at 510-544-3183 for verbal directions. Parking is free on weekends despite what signs say. A simple but filling lunch will be provided (sandwiches, fruit, snacks, chocolate).

Ages 10+.

Ages 10-11, must be accompanied by adult (the adult should register too)
Ages 12-17, must bring waiver signed by adult (found in upper right-hand corner)
