Description

SUNOL - Tis the season for slimy critters! We'll walk up to High Valley Pond to look for mating California newts, and learn about other amphibians who also live in the park.

Recommended for ages 12+. This is a 3 mile hike and will be a somewhat strenuous. For more information, call (510) 544-3249

From the Fremont area: Drive north on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Rd. Turn right on Calaveras and proceed to Geary Rd, which leads directly into park.

From the Oakland/Berkeley area: Drive east on I-580 to the junction with I-680 in Pleasanton. At the junction, go south on I-680 and exit at Calaveras Road/Highway 84 just south of the town of Pleasanton. Turn left onto Calaveras Road and proceed to Geary Road, which leads directly into the park.
