Leona Canyon Exploration

LEONA CANYON REGIONAL OPEN SPACE PRESERVE (MERRITT COLLEGE PARKING LOT E): Explore the headwaters of Oakland’s Arroyo Viejo along Rifle Range Branch in Leon Canyon. There are always lots of botanical treats here, and hopefully some birds, too! Moderate, with about 3 miles covered and 600 feet of elevation gain.

Bring binoculars and a hand lens if you have them available. We will have some to pass out as needed.

Please also keep food, water and comfort in mind.
